I started working the minute I got in. My biggest challenge was getting a comprehensive agenda typed up to aid in the flow for my AP class.I've noticed that a lot of students are not completing assignments on time and I've been giving more instruction. Hmmm... maybe I should powerpoint information as well. I'll think about that one. That will be one more way I am giving information. 1) verbally 2) copy of agenda 3) on the screen through power point and examples 4) on edmodo. I think that should be enough.
I was expecting today to be crazy because my AP students would be working in the library, uploading their essay onto our class blog. Some opportunities for improvement was that a considerable amount of students did not have their essays ready at the beginning of class and so the sharing of essays was mostly stressful.
I realize that this is the first time we do this, but I am hoping things get better as we go into the next six weeks.
I am already planning the next six weeks and am including time to write in class and time to work on computers in class. I am hoping this helps, although I realize that I am running out of time to teach them new concepts. EEK!
Oh well.
I reviewed with my regular class for the six weeks exam. In my second period class I have two students who are mostly indifferent to school overall. They did manage to complete their work today and I'm hoping the dynamics in their small group will encourage them to keep completing work. We'll see.
It's almost the end of the first six weeks and I am TIRED. I feel better overall because I at least know that this is my life. This is what makes me happy. I don't have to finish everyday today. I just need to keep doing what I love to do. :)

The good thing is...
I can blog from school on this one because it's about teaching... yay!
I need to remember to make an agenda for my classes tomorrow. Maybe I should make a to do list. On my gmail I guess that would be better.
Ok, done.

I feel a bit lost
In some ways I feel really great and in other ways I feel not so great.
I feel good that I fulfilled my mentor responsibilities and attended the training on Saturday. I also feel good that I'm getting more and more used to working hard. I feel like I am getting more accomplished each day. I'm planning better lessons and keeping up with teacher tasks. I really am enjoying the whole teacher thing.
The one thing that was giving me pause was that I hadn't completed my ABYDOS readings, but I sent my supervisor an email and it seems an extension is very plausible.
Fingers crossed it all turns out okay.

I got this awesome idea
This blog has sprung out of necessity to think through some of my teacher practices. Throughout the day I get ideas for lessons, classroom management and other teacher related tasks, and I'm always afraid I'm going to forget them.
So, this is the medium I will use to think through those things.
